Mumbai Meri Jaan – Review

Published by sanket at 4:52 am under movie review Edit This

Mumbai Meri Jaan is a movie that, against popular expectations in Bollywood, does not deal with the serial bomb blasts in Mumbai that shocked the whole nation and rocked the city, but how the bombs made their marks and impact on the public. This movie deals with the aftermath of the blasts in 2006 and depicts how five different people were affected by the blasts and how life changes for them. The five stories are not greatly connected with each other, again, opposing popular belief, so Nishikant Kamat seems to have done his bit over here. While Paresh Rawal-Vijay Maurya, Irrfan Khan and Kay Kay Menon seem to have roles that greatly impact the audience, Soha Ali Khan’s journalist role seems to have gone a bit overboard at times. Madhavan does great justice to his role, and stands out at many times thanks to a compelling
performance in spite of a comparably smaller story for his character. Mumbai Meri Jaan is a movie that promises a lot more, and Nishikant Kamath has really proved that he is the great director that he was always perceived to be.
